Petar Ivanov is a Senior associate with TBP’s Financial Services Law Group, who joined TBP in 2017.
Prior to joining Tsvetkova Bebov & Partners, he served as student assistant at the Faculty of Law of Ludwig-Maximillians-University in Munich, where he supported the work on white collar crime of the chair for criminal law of Prof. Dr. Petra Wittig and held a tutorial on criminal law.
As part of the Financial Services Law Group Petar is working closely with Nikolay Bebov and Damyan Leshev and has been instrumental in a number of the firm’s ECM, DCM and bank financing projects, providing both transactional support and legal opinions for major international banks and corporate groups. Petar also advises some of Bulgaria’s largest banks, investment firms and asset managers on a wide range of regulatory matters in the field of banking and capital market regulation.
Most recently, Petar took part in TBP’s team advising the Republic of Bulgaria on all matters of Bulgarian law in a EUR 2,500,000,000 dual-tranche issuance under Bulgaria’s Global Medium-Term Note Programme finalized in September 2020 and has acted as issuer legal counsel in the IPO of Eleven Capital – the first IPO in Bulgaria since 2018, which was successfully finalized in April 2020. He also took part in TBP’s work as borrower–side local counsel in a major financing transaction related to one of the largest energy projects in Bulgaria and was part of the team advising Telus International on matters of Bulgarian law in relation to a US$ 870,000,000 top-up financing granted to the group.
Petar is author and co-author of multiple legal publications in English, Bulgarian and German and in 2020 was rated `rising star` in the field of Banking by IFLR 1000.
