Yassen is an experienced member of the Climate, Energy and Environmental practice areas at Tsvetkova Bebov & Partners (TBP). Before joining TBP in February 2022, Yassen had worked for a leading Bulgarian law firm, where he has gained a substantial experience in the electricity supply industry – power generation, distribution, supply and trading.
Yassen has been following closely the development of renewable energy in Bulgaria from the early days of incentives provided to renewable power generation (2006 – 2007). He has been involved in the acquisitions and financing of wind and solar power projects.
Yassen has extensive expertise in providing regulatory advice to thermal power assets, compliance and assessments related to market structure. Prospecting and exploration of hydrocarbons, as well as trading in natural gas or other commodities (carbon allowances), serve to top up his experience.
Yassen actively monitors the implementation of the European green economy action plan and the consequences it carries for global finance, and supply chains.
Yassen is fluent in English language, and he has published his own opinions and assessments of energy and environmental regulations in international legal journals.
